Being a part of the oldest Protestant denomination founded on frontier American soil, First Christian Church, Las Vegas, stands in the historic tradition of the early pioneers of “Little House on the Prairie” covered wagon days and expresses a contemporary faith that is forward looking.

The basic pattern of worship is rooted in New Testament scripture and our Disciples heritage. In worship, persons encounter the living God as the Spirit moves among us through the music, prayers, reading of scripture, proclamation of the Word, and in baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

As disciples of Jesus Christ, we seek to make worship in the 21st century a meaningful experience for all ages and welcome children, youth and adults to participate in the planning and leadership of our worship services. Our worship life is evolving, emerging, and creative, as God’s spirit leads us.

Our primary Worship service is on Sundays at 10:00 a.m.  This service is a blending of traditional and contemporary music and styles of worship. We have a wonderful Sanctuary Choir that enhances the Sunday morning worship experience as well as guest soloists or other groups.  

An alternative worship service — “Saturday Night Praise Worship” — is offered on Saturday evening at 5:00 p.m

The music of the church is an expression of our faith and belief. Whether a traditional hymn of the church or a contemporary song, the music lifts and enlivens our spirits. Our worship is enriched by our Ministry of Music.
